How To Be Happy
If
someone put up a question in front of you asking, “what is the most important
thing in your life?”, what will you answer?
Most people
think about money, love, success, owning a car, or maybe a house, but they fail
to understand that the most important key here is “happiness”. Whether you
think about owning a car or a house or having a lot of money, what you
experience is happiness. You can feel it for a moment or you can feel it for a
lifetime, the choice is yours.
All these
materialistic requirements provide you with momentary happiness, but the actual
happiness comes from within and it can not be found in money or a house. Well
by saying this I definitely do not mean that you should not be happy about
buying a car! who would not be!
What I mean to
say is that you should find a constant source of happiness, and trust me, it is
not difficult at all!
All you need to
do is make sure that you
1- Do not rely on others for your
happiness!
We bungle our
lives by seeking happiness in others, we think “if he/she accepts me, I will be
thrilled” or “if I could make my parents proud, I can find my happiness!” or
“if my boss is happy with me, I will never have to be unhappy!” thoughts like
these are constantly diverting us from creating our happiness inside us. And
sorry to burst the bubble! But you can never be happy just by keeping others
happy.
2- Seek joy
Happiness and
joy go hand in hand. If you know where your joy is, you will find your
happiness sitting just next to it! You can be happy about every single thing,
be it a driving lesson, or a nicely baked cake, try to pick up little bits of
happiness, and combine them into one big source!
3- Do what makes you satisfied
Sometimes we can
be happy by just cleaning our apartment or feeding the strays, and at times it
can be really difficult for us to gratify ourselves. Try to seek for things
that make you feel contented and always remember “good deeds are the key to
satisfaction”.
4- Take your own decisions
Most of the time
people choose a career that they are not sure of or do not want to pursue, and
they do this just because their parents asked them to do so, or the other kids
were doing the same, but your professional and personal decisions should never
be influenced by others. If you do what you want to do, you will always be
happy about it.
5-Meditate and take exercise
A healthy and
active lifestyle can boost your confidence and will help you feel happy about
yourself. Meditation will help you come out of every negative thought and will
fill you with positivity.
6-Try to achieve your goals
Everyone will
tell you that you should achieve your goals, and yes you should do it! But keep
this in mind that you are not allowed to make such goals, that are almost
impossible to achieve, or will question your potential! There are endless
things that you are capable of doing!
8-Never compare yourself to others
Often people
look at others and their achievements, and think that how successful they are,
or think about the things that others have and all of these thoughts just make
them unhappy and they forget about the good things that they have in their
life. If you want to compare, then compare your past with your present and try
to do things that can create a better future for you.
The more you are satisfied with yourself, the happier
you feel.
Only you can be a constant source of your happiness.
And most important of all “Take care of your body,
mind, and soul”.
